Devon Garden Party Wedding

- Buckland House Wedding -

I photographed Emma and James’ Devon Garden Party wedding at Buckland House a few years back.

Looking through the gallery, I’m really struck by the intimate, story-telling feeling of the photographs. Many of the pictures are close, part of the action, with a relaxed shooting style that feels more like I’m a guest rather than a wedding photographer.

I’m quietly chuffed about this, as it’s the way I like to shoot: with no script and open minded about what could happen.

I make a conscious effort to not be the wedding photographer so as to not think like a wedding photographer. This doesn’t mean that I don’t capture the classic wedding moments, but it does mean I’m often on the prowl for different types of shots that tell a fuller story of the day to my clients.

I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures!
