It goes without saying that weddings are an emotion rich experience for all of those involved. This picture of a tender, tearful embrace between Jess and her Nan brings this home like few others. I do not know what they spoke about but the Nan’s look of pride and love is obvious.

Weddings are so emotionally charged not just because of the love between two people, but also the life stories of those celebrating with them. Many at weddings are just starting out on their journey in life. Others may reflect on the meandering path that got them to that time and place. A few might be in their twilight years, rich with their own memories, but just as excited for the youth around them.

Weddings are more than just the coming together of two people; they are a moment to reflect on life’s journey and for collective affirmation of those present.
